On Tuesday 22^nd of January, we held our annual Colour Me Beautiful Awards Ceremony to celebrate the hard work our talented consultants have invested in the past year into building their image consulting business  We would like to congratulate them all. They are having fun whilst transforming the looks and confidence of women in Asia! 

Filled with cocktails, our consultants caught up with one another, sharing stories on their business ventures.

Awards were handed out by Colour Me Beautiful Asia's Managing Director Eve Roth Lindsay to the many consultants who have worked hard on developing their careers this year. We would like to offer a huge congratulations to them all!

One of our top consultants Ella Westendorp, a native Dutch painter and fashion designer, often hosts Makeup and Fashion parties for women at the fashion boutiques Blue Sea Blue and Polka Dot, as well as members of the American Women’s Association. Watch Ella as she selects the best styles, cuts and fabrics for these women, and helps them identify their 'Style Personality', helping them express their individuality with their wardrobe selections.

Veena Dansinghani, our multilingual consultant who speaks English, Cantonese, Hindi and Sindhi, tries a different approach by doing a complete style makeover on the Toni and Guy team!

Our consultants from India- Sindhu George and Malini Hemlani, often host parties for their fellow Indian female friends, specializing in giving tips with their culture and customs in mind.

Image Consulting Business & Motherhood

Ever wondered how a woman juggles motherhood as well as running her own business? Colour Me Beautiful’s Samantha Birkwood sure does!

Samantha currently manages her own professional image consulting business ‘Image & Style’ in both Hong Kong and Macau, seeing clients from all walks of life, from bankers and lawyers to stay at home mums.

Her specialties include Fashion, Style, Color and Image Advice, Business Dressing, Wardrobe Weeding, Bridal and Weddings, Teens as well as Business and Corporate Training.

For personal consultations, Samantha conducts them at studios on both coasts, or in the comfort of her clients’ homes. For corporate consultations, she sees clients at their place of business.

And she does all of this while taking care of her 1 year old daughter with another one along the way!

Samantha understands the demands of a busy lifestyle, being a working mother herself. With her background in the corporate world, including positions in Project Management, Marketing and Public Relations, she fully understanding the ins and outs of running your own business.

She has also been busy with attending events, bazaars and functions to let more people know about the benefits of image consulting. Samantha loves helping her clients, and goes the extra mile to keep them updated on the latest styles and trends for the seasons.

Samantha has recently teamed up with Hong Kong’s ‘Love It’ boutique store, offering customers their very own personalized colour analysis, helping them identify colours which complement them, and colours which wash them out.

A one of a kind store which imports their favourite boutique labels from around the world to Hong Kong, Love It only carries one or two of each pieces of each size of clothing, so customers never have to worry about running into someone else wearing the same thing!

Samantha’s advice and tips on colours, paired with the philosophy behind Love It is assisting customers to be more confident in making their shopping choices.

Here she is showing a client what colour category she belongs to according to her skin tone and the colour of her eyes and hair. For example, does she have light coloured hair and eyes? In that case, she would belong to LIGHT category. Or if she has dark hair and dark eyes she would be a DEEP.

Here are all the tools Samantha used to conduct a style and colour analysis on Love It’s customers, including a full set of colour drapes, colour swatches, style mood boards, scarves and Colour Me Beautiful books. These tools are all provided by Colour Me Beautiful, one of Europe’s largest image consulting firms.

The importance of Colour

If someone were to ask you "What's the underlying hue or tone to your skin?"...would you know the answer?

What about "What are the colours that complement your hair and eyes the best?"

For those of us without an artistic bone in our body, this may come as somewhat of a challenge.

And this is precisely where Colour Me Beautiful image consultants come in.

Our 58 consultants are all equipped with the most up to date knowledge of colour analysis, using the colour wheel system created by Alfred Munsell, helping you analyze the best colours to wear in both your makeup and your wardrobe. Do you belong to the category of Light, Deep, Warm, Cool, Clear or Soft? Which season would you be classified under - Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter? Well, this all depends on your colouring!

For example, ladies who fall under the category of Autumn, you're natural coloring is fiery, earthy, golden and natural. Just think of autumn leaves and the autumnal landscape. You can wear both muted and rich, warm colors like exotic spice colors. Moss, rust and terra cotta are all complementary to your colouring. 

Those of you who belong to the ''Clear" category-you possess dark hair, eyebrows and eye shadows, with either clear blue, green or hazel eyes. Your most prominent feature are your beautiful, sparkling eyes that pop. For your makeup, choose bright colours such as teals or rich purples for your eye shadows to draw attention to your best asset.
