Father’s Day Special

If we’ve got it right, you Dads will be out and about with the family in the sun over the coming weeks so we thought we’d give you a tip or two about summer’s biggest men’s trend: shorts!

Here’s some do’s and don’ts…

1.      Don't wear baggy long shorts unless you are golfing.

2. Don't wear gym/athletic shorts during a dinner out, a day out around town; you're screaming "I've given up."

3. Don't wear cut-offs or jean shorts ("jorts") unless you’re lucky enough to be in your twenties.

4. Don't overload the pockets of your cargo shorts.

And here are all the things you should be doing!...

1.      Do wear flat front khaki shorts. Don't like khaki? Then opt for a nice charcoal, black, olive, stone or navy color. You will look put together and stay cool and comfy.

2.      Do wear a cool pair of board shorts if you are at the beach. But remember, if you are nowhere near water you will look like a poser!

3.      Do wear linen shorts if you are going to an upscale party and it’s just too hot for pants. Pair them with a nice leather or fabric sandal and a short sleeved linen shirt. You will make heads turn.

4.      Do invest in a trendy short. If you are a fashion forward guy, then you could try some cargo shorts and capris.

Dads and Grads

Are you stumped on what to get the dads and grads in your life? We’ve got all the inspiration you need!

Hair Style
He’ll want to look good for the big day so booking him in for a proper hair style will be a welcome treat.

Skin Care
This is a terrific way to introduce skin care to guys who would not go out and buy products for themselves. Skin needs to be treated with a little more TLC when it’s shaved so often.

Watches and Cufflinks
A limited budget doesn't mean you can't wear a neat watch. There are plenty of options out there these days. Cuffs can add individuality to a man’s suit so be playful!

Colour Splash
If he is afraid of wearing colour then a cotton or linen scarf might be a good way to add some to his outfit without committing to too much.

Fashion
Sweaters are a key element in any man's wardrobe and are a great transitional weather item for when summer days turn to cooler nights.

Like jeans, polos have become a staple in many a male wardrobe. Colourful tees with fun designs make an excellent gift that’s a bit different.

Bags
Our men have their hands full at the best of times. And what with laptop, papers, keys, phone and lunch, they’ll need all the help they can get. A leather satchel or sophisticated briefcase will sort the problem.

Makeovers
If you are at a loss and not sure what style or colour suits him, then give him a Colour or Style Consultation from Colour Me Beautiful. It's such an easy gift to give and best of all, one size fits all.
